Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kilian Oberleithner

Since May 2018, Kilian Oberleithner is director of the Laboratory of Flow Instabilities and Dynamics. He received his Ph.D. in 2012 under the joint supervision of Prof. Oliver Paschereit from the TU Berlin and Prof. Israel Wygnanski from the University of Arizona. After a PostDoc at the laboratory of Prof. Julio Soria of the Monash University Melbourne he became head of a research group at the TU Berlin. His research interests are focused on exploring physical mechanisms and developing flow control techniques for reacting and non-reacting turbulent shear flows, using stability theory, laser diagnostics, proper orthogonal decomposition and reduced order modeling. Overall goal of his work is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and engineering problems.
